The 2015 Cannes Film Festival poster features Ingrid Bergman (29 August 1915, Stockholm Sweden – 29 August 1982, London UK). Bergman was one of Hollywood’s greatest stars who had won three Oscars. In 1945 for “Gaslight” (best actress in a leading role), in 1957 for “Anastasia” (best actress in a leading role), and in 1975 for “Murder on the Orient Express” (best actress in a supporting role). She starred in many Hollywood films like “For Whom the Bell Tolls” (1943) next to Gary Cooper, based on Ernest Hemingway’s famous novel, as well as three films directed by Alfred Hitchcock, “Spellbound” (1945) next to Gregory Peck, “Notorious” (1946) next to Cary Grant and “Under Capricorn” (1949) next to Joseph Cotten. However, the film that Ingrid Bergman was most famous for was the all time classic “Casablanca” (1942), starring next to Humphrey Bogart.
In 1973, Ingrid Bergman was “President of the Jury” at the Cannes Film Festival. This year, her daughter actress and director Isabella Rossellini will be the President of the “Un Certain Regard Jury” (more info about Ingrid Bergman from wikipedia and imdb).
