Ryan Gosling’s debut film as a director premiered yesterday in the 67th Cannes Film Festival “Un Certain Regard” section.

It is the story of a single mother (Christina Hendricks) who’s living in Detroit with her two sons. The oldest one (Ian De Caestecker) is a teenager who’s trying to get away from the bullying of a rather mentally instable guy (Matt Smith) and discovers a secret underwater town along with his friend (Saoirse Ronan).
