The 2012 Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) will be held from November 17 to November 24 in Doha, Qatar.

Qatar is a country occupying the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeasterly coast of the much larger Arabian Peninsula (more from Qatar-wikipedia). Doha is the capital of Qatar and is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf. It is Qatar’s largest city, with a population of 998,651 citizens in 2008 and is also the economic centre of the country. Over 60% of the nation’s population resides in Doha or its surrounding suburbs (more from Doha-wikipedia).

The Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF), launched in 2009, is a cultural partnership between Doha Film Institute (DFI) and New York’s Tribeca Enterprises. DTFF is a community-minded international film event focused on engaging local Qatari audiences in world cinema appreciation, and showcasing emerging and auteur talent from the Middle East and North Africa region. DTFF is held annually and the competition categories include Feature Narrative, Feature Documentary and Short Film Competition, as well as Audience and Made in Qatar Awards.
