The 2012 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will be held from September 6 to September 16 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Toronto is a city in southeast Canada and is the provincial capital of Ontario. It is located in Southern Ontario on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. Toronto is the largest city in Canada with about  2.615.000 citizens and is the birthplace of many notable artists like David Cronenberg -director of “Cosmopolis” starring Robert Pattinson- and Christopher Plummer -won academy award for best actor in a supporting role in 2012 for the movie “Beginners” (more from Toronto-wikipedia).

The Toronto International Film Festival was founded in 1976 by the name “The Festival of Festivals” since it was originally a collection of the best movies from film festivals around the world. Today, TIFF has become one of the most famous events of the cinema industry where both well-established filmmakers and new ones come together to premiere their films (many of which start their Oscar race here). TIFF is held every September and the highest prize of the competition is the People’s Choice Award for best film as voted by the audience (more from Toronto Film Festival-wikipedia).
