You have to be brave to defy your destiny and finally change it.

Disney and Pixar come together to present us a story about a courageous little girl, the little princess Merida who decides not to go along with her oppressive mother’s advice. When by mistake she causes evil to unleash, Merida has to make things right by using her arc and her mind.

What we also see from the beginning of this trailer is how amazing the visual effects and animation quality have become. The red hair of the little heroine Merida is impressively realistic and float lively in the wind.

In this animation Disney and Pixar are avoiding the classic blonde hair color (how could they since Princess Merida is Scottish). Let’s take a look at other female characters of Disney movies categorized by hair-color.

Blonde Hair: Tangled (2010), Sleeping Beauty (1959), Alice in Wonderland (1951), Cinderella (1950)

Brown Hair: Beauty and the Beast (1991)

Black Hair: The Princess and the Frog (2009), Mulan (1998), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Pocahontas (1995), Aladdin (1992), Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Red Hair: Brave (2012), Anastasia (1997), The Little Mermaid (1989)
